Unidentifiable House Plant!

Question
Its colorings and shape of the leaves resemble a jew, dark green,  somewhat varigated, cream color stripe on the spine of the leaves.  The stems are dark pink.
It doesn't trail like a jew - it's compact. the leaves are much larger, and fuzzy on both sides (like an African violet).
It's a beautiful plant thriving at my sister in law's house.  She got it from a friend, has no idea what it is, and I don't either.   (Therefore, don't know how to get a piece of it!)
I will send a picture to plantlady6@yahoo.

Thanks for your help

Answer
Christine,

The common names for your plant are Brown Spiderwort or Bear Ears. The Scientific Name is  Siderasis fuscata. I sent more info with pictures to your private email. It is a tropical and only hardy outdoors to zone 10. Good luck with it.
