I have a typical Venus Flytrap that has been growing exclusively outdoors and is doing tremendously well.  It has started to flower and I would like to try and harvest the seeds.  What is the best way to collect them?

Hi Jackson,

You'll need to wait until the seedpods turn black and split open.  When the you see small shiny beads, that's when your seeds are ready for harvest.  Simply shake the top of the stalk into a cup to collect your seeds.  From the time the flowers open to the time seeds are ready is usually about 3 months.  To germinate them, follow the instructions located at:
