Sickly plant

Question

sick plant
I bought a D. filiformis x intermedia - Hybrida from you and it was growing great till a little bit ago. A lot of its "leaves have turned brown and there does not seem to be a whole lot of new growth. I was wondering if the plant is salvageable and if so what needs to be done if anything to bring it back to life again. I've included some pictures of the plant so you can see what it looks like.

Answer
Hi Miguel,

I've got good news and bad news.  First the good news.  There's nothing wrong with your plant.  Now the bad news.  It's going to look like that until spring.  D. x hybrida tends to go dormant early; often late summer.  D. anglica does the same thing.  You can see the winter resting buds in the middle of the leaf clusters.  They just have a long dormancy.  Just keep it wet.

Good Growing!
