Question
I saw that you have N. rafflesiana, Giant (Lowland) available and was wondering how this plant would fare in my climate. I live in Florida in the Orlando/Tampa area. If they would be OK would you recommend growing the plant inside on a windowsill or outside on a covered porch where the plant would get around 4-6 hrs of sun.

Answer
Hi Miguel,

Your climate is definitely warm enough to grow this species.  You can choose to grow it indoors or outdoors.  However, if you grow it outdoors, you'll need to protect it from low temperatures.  This plant is happiest when the night temperatures are above 65癋.  Definitely avoid frost.  This plant also gets very large, so you'll need a windowsill that can eventually accommodate a large Nepenthes.

For more information about growing Nepenthes, read our care sheet:

Good growing!
