Hamata growing conditions

Allexperts,

I have a question regarding the nepenthes Hamata.  The current place I have the plant is in a fish bowl.  With a 60 watt( actual output) CFLl light.  Should I move the plant to a near by window that has proven to be beneficial, to a Nepenthes Mira that is growing in the window?  The reason why I am asking is because the plant is now experiencing temperatures into the 80s do the weird temperatures we have been having.    I live in zone 7.  I have attached some photos.  Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Weylin

Answer
You can certainly give it a try.  Those two species grow in similar conditions.  However, I prefer to keep things as they are if a plant is growing well.  Your hamata seems to growing well in its current location, so my hunch is to keep it there.  It grows very slowly, and it may be several months before you find it likes the new conditions or not.  Given the rarity of this species, I would leave it alone since it is already doing fine.

Good growing!
