Butterwort Brown Spots?

Question
Pinguicula moctezumae is showing brown spots and leaves dieing off more quickly than normal.?br> Too much or not enough  light, heat, water maybe??
It was fine like the rest of my Mexican butterworts untill after it flowered in January.
All butterworts I have are in 2-piece African violet type of pots in which watering is done from the bottom rather than the top and this is the only species having some trouble now.   ?br> Any ideas???

Answer
Hi Charlie,

Pinguicula monctezumae can be a fussy little cuss.  They are very prone to root rot in a fashion similar to P. primuliflora.  Try to keep them a bit on the dry side, and in cool conditions.  Temperatures in the 60's are preferred by this plant.  In an African violet pot keep the water chamber low.  It's ok if the soil feels slightly dry to the touch.  It might be beneficial to treat them with Trichoderma also.  Here's a link:  http://www.territorialseed.com/product/130/s
