Repotting Cephotatus

Question
Hello, I got a Cephalotus from you guys around three weeks ago and it's doing good.  I am going to repot the plant and plan to use a mix of 1/3 peat moss from whitny farms, 1/3 washed sand from whitny farms, and 1/3 pumice or perlite.  Is this mix appropriate for the plant?  I've heard that Cephalotus like some sand in there soil. Which would cepholatus prefer, pumice or perlite and do they like have there soid compressed?  What is Superthrive?

I give it water purified by reverse osmosis, I have it placed under two cool white 40 watt flourescent bulbs 6 iches above the plant for 12 hours, and I live in Lake Oswego Oregon.

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Augustin,

Yes, your soil mix is appropriate for Cephalotus.  I also recommend watching Volume 3 of our DVD series, Grow Carnivorous Plants.  In that volume, we show you how to grow and repot Cephalotus and other tropical pitcher plants.

Good growing!
