Darlingtonia purple spots

Question

Purple spots
Hi there, I had bought 1 darlingtonia plant from my carnivorous plant nursery a week ago and its winter here. The plants had started to develop purple spots all over itself. Is this normal? Should I repot the plant? Thanks

Answer
Hi Francis,

Since your into winter, this is very normal.  I do see, however, some white patches on the leaves that could be fungus.  It's good to spray them with a sulfur based fungicide as a preventative.  This mold usually isn't serious, but if it gets out of hand it can be hard to eradicate.

If you planned on repotting anyway it's fine, but you don't need to do it because of this.

Good Growing!
