Nepenthes Deroose Alata

Question
I'm growing what you previously told me what was a nepenthes deroose alata. All seems fine and it's currently outside.I keep the soil permanently moist, and I have a simple question. I'm guessing this plant is an intermediate species, so what are appropriate temperature ranges for this plant in the day and also at night e.g. x degrees c - x degrees c. Or you can give figures is Fahrenheit if you wish. And a further point,a recent pitcher has just opened, and at around 7 inches tall, it's the largest pitcher I have had yet. With appropriate conditions, should all new pitchers become increasingly bigger to a maximum possible size?

Answer
Hi Chris,

The deRoose's Alata hybrid is a very tolerant plant.  They seem to be happiest when the daytime temperatures are around 29-30 degrees C daytime and 14-15 degrees C nighttime.  They will tolerate well outside this range (not freezing) but the best growth is in this zone along with about a 14 hour photoperiod.

Seven inches is a pretty common size for pitchers, but I've seen them as large as 12 inches.  They don't seem to get too much larger than that.

Good Growing!
