N. stenophylla

Question
Hello I bought a N. stenophylla about 2 months ago. When i got it the roots were tiny like no hairs what so ever. I live in Queens New York the last two months were hot sunny and humid 95 day 80 at night. The plant is in the back yard east of my house gets good directsun for at least 4 hours a day and indirect the rest . Now the leaves are turning yellow and tips brown and i just repotted it with 2 part perlite 2 part sphagnum moss 1 part sphagnum peat moss I used superthrive.Soon the tempature is going to drop and lot less sunlight do you think I should put it in a terrarium or leave it in a window when it gets colder. By the way I bought your Dvd volume 3 Very helpful just ordered 1 and 2 and a plant today. Thank you good growing

Answer
Hi Sal,

If you have a big terrarium with fluorescent lights this plant would do well there.  However, as an intermediate, it should do just fine as a windowsill plant also.

It sounds like from your description the plant may have been getting a little too much sun.  When outdoors they tend to like a little shade, especially dappled light.  Indoors in a window you won't have this problem.

It will also be helpful ot lightly fertilize the plant like we recommend in the DVD to help the plant along if it doesn't have any pitchers.

Good Growing!
