Help me ID a plant

Question
About 20 years ago when I still lived at home my mother had a house plant that I am trying to find again. She no longer has this plnat and has not for several years. It was an unusual plant. She called it a Fertility Plant but I can't find anything by that name that looks like it. This plant was medium green with glossy leaves. I believe it was a succulent. I would develope what looked like buds on the edges of the leaves and when those buds dropped they would root and develop another plant. You could cause the buds to drop when they where ready and you could pot them into a container of your choice. I am trying to find this plant again but I do not know anything more about it. Can you help?

Answer
David,

Hi,

It is a succulent member of the kalanchoe family. It is a Kalanchoe Pinnata to be exact, also known as Friendship plant. This site has a picture of the plant so you can be sure it is your plant. http://www.lapshin.org/nikita/plants17.htm When you get one keep it in a sunny location and water it like you would a cactus. Then give all your friends babies from your plant and it will live up to it's name, Friendship plant. Good luck with yours when you find one. If you have trouble finding one let me know, I have one.
