N-Mirranda soil

Question
I got a rooted cutting from Home Depot a few monts back. It's in a sunny south window and is doing great as are all of my tropicals. My question is, it came in an 8" pot but it is only about half full of soil. Can I top it off, if so, how far?

Answer
Hi Dave,

Definitely add some extra media.  I like to do within 1" of the top of the pot.  I usually don't fill it all the way since it makes watering more difficult.  The extra soil will encourage more root development higher up on the stalk, and sometimes you get additional shoots forming from dormant nodes.

Good Growing!
