Drosera Unknown

Question
Drosera ?
Drosera ?
In July of 2011 I received 6 Drosera species, and of the 6 one was labeled "Pretty Rosette", yet I have not found anything when I type this online for info on how to care, propogate, etc. for the plant. I hope the photo helps, as I have no idea what its scientific Drosera name is.

Plus, if you are able to determine which species it is, would it be possible to chop off a piece of its roots to propogate another plant like the Drosera Binata? I have tried to find this information online, but nothing shows up at all. (Which is very aggravating.)

Your help and answers are greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hi Devon,

The photo is a bit fuzzy, but this looks like Drosera burmanii.  D. burmanii is an annual, and you need to collect seed for propagation.  Vegetative propagation methods usually fail.

We go over propagation in detail in our volume #2 DVD:  http://cobraplant.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=38&products_id=256  The Savage Garden also has good information on sundew propagation.  You're willing to spend money on plants, be willing to spend money on education. :)  I've never regretted buying a book on cp, and ours are about the only instructional videos out there.  Even books that were not quite what I was expecting always have things I learn from them.

Good Growing!
