Pea Gravel

Question
Gravel
Gravel
So I went to the pet store and bought this bag of aquarium gravel so that I could put 2 inches on the bottom of my 10 gallon terrarium.

Before I open the bag and void the ability to take it back and get my money refunded, is this what you meant by 'pea gravel'? Even if it isn't the same exact thing, will it still work?

I'm sending a picture of it so you can better determine if I can use it as the drainage on the bottom of my carnivorous plant terrarium I'm wanting to get going. (I looked up 'pea gravel' and it looks pretty close to the same as what I got.)

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Devon,

This stuff is fine for this purpose.  Most aquarium gravel is just epoxy coated rock and it pretty inert.  It's just an expensive way to buy small gravel.  Usually if you go to landscape or decorative rock companies you can buy a 50 lb. sack of rainbow rock or other natural, water-washed pea gravel for the price of a little bag of aquarium gravel.  You just need to avoid anything with limestone in it.

Good Growing!
