Question
We are going to remove the old sod from our lawn and use gravel and low maintenance and watering plants.  Do we need to put a fabric down after the sod is pulled up, or can we just use an organic type of weed/grass spray on anything that comes up later?

Hey, Mari Lee.

You'll have better overall success if you put a weed fabric down. It will help control weeds and keep the gravel looking better. From experience, I can tell you that it's not fun pulling weeds out of gravel. Even if you kill the weeds with a weed killer, you'll have dead weeds laying on the gravel and I've always found dead weeds even more difficult to pull than living weeds. So, my recommendation: use the weed fabric.
