Judith Hindle Flower Flower Stalk

Question
Judith Hindle
Judith Hindle
I recently purchased a medium Judith Hindle and would like to know if this plant is mature enough to have the flowers or should I cut the Stalk? i never had a Sarracenia but the first thing that sprout was a long stalk which I figure is the flower stalk right in the middle. I want my Judith to do its best. Is there a length in which is too late to cut off?

Thank you

Answer
Hi Jose,

Definitely cut the flower off.  You can cut it anytime before it opens.  This plant looks like it was a division from a larger plant, so you don't want it to bloom this year since it can slow the plant down.  Next year after growing a season and catching lots of bugs it can bloom.  It's definitely something to look forward to.  Sarracenia flowers are stunning.

Good Growing!
