fall

Question
Hello Sarracenia Northwest. I have a nepenthes x hookeriana for a month now. However, today it fell of a chair and  all the pitcher liquid spilled out. Thank fully, nothing was broken. I have refilled the pitchers with rain water. My question is- will it suffer any shock from the fall?

Regards Tony.

Answer
You really have nothing to worry about.  These plants are very resilient.  It takes more than a fall to put this plant into shock.  Generally, the thing that will shock the plant is extreme changes in the growing conditions.  We ship lots of Nepenthes through the mail every week.  We know that some postal carriers are not very conscientious about how they handle the boxes.  I know that the boxes are sometimes dropped or tossed.  The plants, however, adjust very well to their new homes.  So your plant will be just fine.

Good growing!
