Hello,
how big does a u. gibba bladderwort have to be to grow. Can it be to small or will it grow no matter how small it is.

It depends on the section of the plant.  If you take your cutting from the growing tip, you'll need about three inches.  If you take your cutting midway in the strand, you'll need about 6 inches.  The longer your cutting, the greater chance of success in establishing the plant.
