candelabra cactus suddenly drooping

Question
Hi Maureen, I have had this candelebra cactus (or succulent)
for many years.  Over the past week and a half it has
started to "droop".  First just the very top (over my head)
and then some branches to the floor as you see.  I have not
changed my watering routine.  I am in  Ontario where it has
been unseasonably warm but my home is air conditioned. It
has not changed locations or soil for at least 5 years (for
obvious reasons).  Help!!!

Answer
Dear Kim,

Do you have a picture?  That kind of drooping can be from a too heavy cactus or from a dying cactus.  It would help to see it and also to know how often you water, soil condition (which can't be good), any balck spots or breaks in the tissue.

thanks,
Maureen
