When is the right time to prune roses & what sprays should be given after pruning

Here in the Southern US we prune in Feb but further North later in the spring. After pruning I spray ASAP the plants with a liquid sulfur spray-this kills the fungi and cuts back on leaf spot. Also during the year if leaf spots do show up I will again spray with sulfur. Ofcourse always remove any plant parts that were pruned off and distroy them. I also use a systemic insecticide spray for aphids when they appear. You may want ot check with your local Extension office and see if they have a bouchure on roses grown in your area.
