white fuzz on rhododendrons and azaleas

Question
Hi, wondering if you might be able to tell me what I should do to save my rhododendrons and azalea.  I have found white fuzz in the joints of both shrub species in my rooftop container garden.  The azalea is particularly hard hit although it was magnificent while in bloom.  I prefer green cures but am not averse to using pesticides.

Thanks in advance for any words of advice.

Answer
Hi,Sharon                                                                        How  r u?The problem is u have scale bug which looks like cotton ish fuzz because it is a soft body insect.Go to the garden center and pick up a horticultural oil spray. This is like baby oil a very refined oil that smothers the insects and environmentally safe and very effective.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
