brown spots on leaves

Question
Some of our tomato plants have leaves which are kinda dried and spotted (light brown).  Same thing with our perennial geranium (Rozanne).  Insect? Fungus? Other disease?

Answer
The tomatoes probably have tomato spotted wilt virus.  If the spots are chocolate brown and in the top of the plant and then the leaves kinda take on a burned appearance and even kinda wilt, I would say it is TSWV.  The fruit may ripen unevenly and even have ringspots on them.  If this is the case, you should pull them up, there is no cure and they will affect other plants if left in the garden.  if the spots are on the bottom of the plant, it could be bacterial spot or may be early blight which is a fungus.  Please go tho this site which has a pictorial guide to tomato problems and you may find your disease problem pictured there.

The geranium probably has something different, probably a bacterial disease.  You can spray them with Hi-Yield Copper Fungicide which has activity on bacteria.  Let me know with return response on the tomato and I can recommend control and management.
