Lemon Tree Pests

Question
Today, my mom found that the underside of several leaves of her lemon tree were covered in a fuzzy, white substance, and lots of ants crawling over these leaves.  We're looking to find out what could be causing this and to find a remedy that will leave the lemons safe for consumption and not harm her pets.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Valerie...you can use 100% pure Neem Oil safe enough to add to shampoo for your pets to keep the fleas and ticks off them.  It absorbs into the leaf of the plant and can not be washed off, so it builds up in time.  It is probably mealy bugs, but what ever the pest Neem will help for sure.  It is also a fungicide and miticide which will actually help set fruit better if there is a fungus on the flower you may not see.  Spay it on yourself and keep the mosquitos off you while you work outside.
