Japanese sago palm disease

Question
We have had our Japanese Sago for six years and it has proved to be an easy plant to look after. This year whilst still in the conservatory we noticed that the underside of the fronds were covered in raised black hard growths (living?) and although we have removed most of them with methylated spirits the condition persists. What is the best way to rid the plant of this disease?.

Answer
Hi Poppy... I would try 100% Pure Neem Oil spray which is organic and will put a coating on the sago so the bugs will not want to come back.  It does not wash off so that gives you extra protection.  It is an insecticidal spray,  also miticide and fungicide.
