mangoo trees

i just don't get it i live i florida with a mangoo tree in a little suburb when we planted the tree aboout 15-20 years ago it was doing fine the now the mangoos aren't ripe at the end of the season they just stay purple whats wrong with the tree i would hat to lose it

Hi Turk,  Checked to see the life of a mango tree and do not think you have a problem that way.  The only thing that comes to mind is watering.  Florida has been in a very big drought for the last few years.  Mangos are tropical plants and love a good drink.  If the fruit is not growing that is what I think the problem is.  At one time it was reaching its water supply and since the drought very large trees were wilting as the water table was so low.  Hopefully you are getting some rain now here in FL and the fruit will begin to grow.  kathy
