TREATING/CURING WHITE BIRCH BLIGHT

Question
OUR WEEPING BIRCH TREE HAS SIGNS OF EARLY BIRCH BLIGHT

Answer
Seymour

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.  The Blight will definetly take over very quickly depending on how healthy your tree is.  There are only a few products that will stop blight in its tracks and they are very expensive and toxic.  Especially when it comes to spraying a tree where the product is going to be possibly blowing back on you.
There is a new product (Atomic Grow) on the market that is non-toxic and is being tested by the University of Florida on anthracnose which is very similar to Blight in that the spores will get transported by wind and rain.   I have also seen testimonials on Potatos and Sweet Corn which is succeptable to blight.

I buy my product from Crowleynursery.net  Kathy ownes a 22 acre nursery and is a great resource.  She shippes the product too.

I am very confident that this will stop the Blight and it will not harm you as you spray the affected leaves and other leaves.

You will need to drench the leaves about every 5 days.  The tree will drop many leaves quickly.  Dont be alarmed as this is a natural process of detoxification and healing.  You will notice a whole new tree when it reflushes.

Good Luck Sir

James
