golden jade

Question
i bought a jade about two and a half months ago, that had a red bordered leaf, and i potted and placed it on my husband's gravesite. unfortunately we have very hot and very humid summers here and now the plant has lost most of it's leaves. what did i do wrong as the nursery where i purchased it said that it should be ok. have we given it too much water and would the fact that it is in the full sun all day have caused it? I was told that the leaves will regrow and to use gardener's sulfur as this could have been caused by a fungus? can you offer me a solution?
this site is the best one that i have found on the net and i appreciate your answer. many thanks. thelma

Answer
Thelma:
I suspect that the plant may have got too hot or dry leading to the leaf loss. Check into the moisture and light requirements.  It doesn not sound like you have a bona fide disease, rather than more of an environmental stress.

Steve
