bugs in my tree


Question

Branch I cut on the gr
I have this white web on some of my trees. There are black pepper like things inside the web. The leaves turn yellow. I posted this on Dave's garden, with no answer.

This looks like an insect pest called fall webworm.  Check out fall webworm under "Google Images" on your computer to see if this matches your situation. The black specks may be fecal pellets (poop)of the insect as it eats the leaves.  It is usually difficult to reach these webs. Prune them out if you can reach- otherwise don't worry.  Usually they don't significantly impact the overall health of the tree.  Be sure to rake up and destroy any fallen leaves during the winter, especially before spring gets here.
