bugs in tree leaves

Question
we live in montana and have just noticed there are small black bugs in the leaves of our willow trees and poplar trees. when i checked the internet, it said its a weevil.  is it too late to spray them, will they kill the tree, or can we wait until next spring to spray.  thanks for your help

Answer
Edna:
I would say that it is probably too late to do much good by spraying now. I would collect a few of these bugs and get them identified correctly so you will know what to use (if anything)for next spring. Your nursery/garden center may offer some help in ID. Also, your local county Agricultural Extension Service is a good resource.  There is an office usually in every county, usually in the county seat- often in the courthouse building. This is a great resource to use.

Steve
