Holly Bush Berries

Question
This is the 2nd year we've had this plant. The first year it got loads of berries. This year the buds started out OK, but never developed into the bright red berries for Christmas time. Any idea on what happened. This is the new species of berry bush that doesn't require a male/female plant

Answer
Tom:

If the plant looks good otherwise, I suspect there may have been a weather or some other stress that prevented berries this year.  Examine your plant for any insects that might be on the buds as well.  Sometimes thrips can damage the flower buds before they open good.
