maple tree white spots underleaf

My maple tree is apppearing healthy , but has many numerous white spots powdery looking, on all of its underleaf as far up as the eye can see, please tell me is this a disease? hicksville, long island

These spots may be an insect. Can you send me a closeup photo of a leaf? Review your image on your computer to be sure it is in focus before sending. Try to get a close shot and I can show it to one of my colleagues here. Best to get an ID first.
