Balsam Plant   QUESTION: Hi Dr Steve,

 I followed the instructions and misted the plant. The liquid fungicide can be used directly. I used the fungicide on my jasmine too but it appears unscathed. Please see attached image.

What was the name of the product that you used?  It may be safe on some plants but not others.  Can you send a photo of the product?

I am sorry, but I am not familiar with this product being used for managing plant diseases.  If you are interested in using organic products for powdery mildew, you may wish to check a product with a similar chemistry to baking soda.  It is potassium bicarbonate rather than sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).  A trade name is Remedy and is distributed by Bonide.  You can go to the bonide.com website to read about it.
