moths in container garden

Question
There are tiny moths in my container garden and I've been trying to figure out what they are and how to get rid of them. They are gray and brown, maybe about 1/8"-1/4" long, and fly around every I disturb the soil. I live in Venice, CA.

Answer
Renee,

There are lots of different moths that fit this description. If you post a clear picture I may be able to help you figure this out but at this point I'd only be guessing. Are they laying eggs on your plants? Do you notice any damage?
