Beneficial Nematodes & Castile Soap

Question
Frank and Vicky Giannangelo,

I have read that both Dr. Bronner's peppermint castile soap and beneficial nematodes are good to use in the garden and in the yard against grubs, fleas, etc.  We have both.  The nematodes worked great in the garden & I am about to try them in the yard for fleas.

Will castile soap kill the nematodes, or can I use them together?

Please help.  The fleas are making our dog crazy & I do not want to use chemicals, as our children are 3 & 5 yrs old.

Answer
Castile soap will do nothing for fleas.  I would dust your pet with Rotonone, it can be used organically, and it will kill the fleas.  It is also good for flea beatles and aphids.  It last for about a day in the sun, and is not harmful to humans.  Try to restrict its use in the garden, since it will also kill some beneficial insects. It is good to put it on at night, and then wash it off in the morning.  For pets, it is great.
