corn gluten meal

Question
I understand you can fertilize established plants with cgm and you can not apply it on newly seeded plants, but what restrictions are there on applying it around newly planted vegetables like tomatoes and peppers? I might add I would like to use it for its fert and weed control benefits.if there is restrictions how old do the vegetables need to bed before application? Also what part of corn does cgm come from?

Answer
I would not use cgm for a fertilizer.  It is used mainly for weed control.  There are just too many other superior organic products for fertilization of your plants.  When you plant new plants, there probably are not any weeds then anyway since the bed is new.
As far as what part of the corn it comes from, I am sure I knew at one time but do not have it in my mind now. :)  Google it though.
