Corn meal can be used for organic lawns but I cannot find any at local feed stores.  One feed store has "chicken meal" which appears to have much corn in it.  Would this be a good organic lawn fertilizer?

Chicken meals are mostly soybeans, which is a good fertilizer. It would probably be cheaper to buy the soybean meal, however. Cornmeal as a fertilizer is rather expensive. It is used as a pre-emergent herbicide, but is not really very effective.
