Used Wrong Weed & Feed

Question
Sir,
I applied Scotts "Bonus S" all over my Bermuda Grass yard. I grabbed the bag of weed and feed (hurriedly, thinking it was the same as I usually get) at the store, applied right about dusk and didn't notice until after work today that it was not to be used in this application.
The yard is always beautiful and I had some weeds coming in so.....
However, I did apply it to an area about three times the size of what the bag called for. (10,000 sq. ft/bag)
What have I done to my yard?
What else have I damaged?
What can I do to before it's too late?
All help appreciated...
Thanks,
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

>>"...What have I done to my yard?"

No predictions can be made exactly here Mike.
And I have had no experience with this product.

The Active Ingredient in this product is 1.055% Atrazine  and the Scotts' web-site makes a statement that it will not 'burn' the vegetation (when used as directed, of course).  It is supposed to be used mainly on St. Augustine lawns.

According to their own reports and specifications...
It should  not use on lawns containing  Bermudagrass and some cool-climate type grasses because "lawn damage may occur". They do not state what the damage may be, I might expect some yellowing of the vegetation and some dead areas could occur.  There may be tech-support for Scotts products which can advise you better on this.

As with any fertilizer excess situation only time and watering will USUALLY make things normal again.

Let me know what happens.
Jim G.
