Question
I am tired to mowing my lawn--it rains often in this part of the country so the grass grows like crazy.  I would like to replace my current Kentucky bluegrass with Buffalo grass.  However, I'm unsure if it would grow well here.  Can you advise?  What about other groundcover or turf options--are there others that would cut back on the mowing?  Thanks for your help.

I would over fertilize or burn my yard.  Why go through the trouble of putting out new seed when you hate to mow.  Get yourself a can of Mortons Salt TM and spread it with a spreader like you would fertilizer all over your yard.  You won't grow a thing from this point forward.  I HATE BUFFALO GRASS.  It grows like a buffalo.  Slow and mean.  You never know when and indian is going to run it into the ground!!!!!
