grass for Connecticut suburbs

Question
Just wondering what grass you would think does best in a plot in Connecticu?

Answer
That really depends on the sun exposure for that plot, and any other factors that would affect grass growth. It's almost like asking me, What would you order when you eat in a restaurant in Connecticut?  Right?

Full sun, perfect soil, diligent mowing - these are all part of the secret of beautiful grass.  But if you've got a plot with all the right stuff, a Bluegrass lawn will look the best.  This popular turfgrass is American as apple pie.  It dominates seed sales for home lawns, private grounds, public parks and athletic fields.  Even the golfers are tee'g up on Kentucky Bluegrass.

The East had a falling out with Bluegrass back in the 1960s, strangely enough.

High maintenance was the reason.

It needed a high mowing height.  It was prone to summer patch, leafspot, necrotic ring spot and all kinds of other fungus flavors.  It hated being walked on.  Golfers didn't
like playing on it.  And fairway turf managers disliked the way weeds overran their carefully cultivated Kentucky Bluegrass greens year after year.

Still, r&d continued all over the country. Their work has paid off.  Newer cultivars are aggressive and denser, boast stronger rhizomes, and plenty of divot damage.  They
thrive with infrequent, deep watering.  You will love it in Connecticut.

Lawnseed.com (http://www.lawnseed.com/) and Seedland (http://www.seedland.com/) are where I buy my seeds.  They have an interactive questionnaire with a map that will recommend grass types for you.

If you have partial shade or shade, my friend, this grass is NOT for you.

Any questions?
