sugar for my lawn

Question
I am reading on this post about using sugar to eventually get rid of weeds.  Exactly how do you use sugar? Should the grass be dry before I put the sugar on?  Do I then water in?  Should I mow before or after.
thanks

Answer
Hi Belinda;
I jusat broadcast the sugar by hand, then water it in deeply.
You can do this-before or after you mow, but you want to water in the sugar, so the grass would be too wet to mow right away.
I am about to go and put my spring sugar down, because it is going to be raining in a little while, again, and the rain can wash my sugar into the soil. Saves me some trouble.LOL
The grass doesn't have to be dry when you put the sugar down, but the wind shouldn't be blowing, or the sugar will blow away instead of falling on the ground.
