Will my sods live?

Question
Hi,
I didn't water my newly laid sods for the first few days and most of them have turned brown. Then I started watering them for the past few days, but they are still pretty brown.  Have they died?  Will they still live?
Thank you.

Answer
I think they might be able to bounce back.It will take some time and lots of close monitoring but I think they will.
One important thing is to let it grow, for a while. When you let it grow, the roots grow too,and that is the most important thing right now. Those roots need to grow and take hold in the soil that is underneath them. Now just don't let it grow too much at a time, you should never cut more that 1/3 of the blades of grass at a time,so don't let it grow past 1/3 of the highest setting on your lawn mower, that is when it does start to grow. It will take a little while (probably a few weeks) for it to recover then another 3-4 weeks for it to grow to where it is above 1/3 your mower height.
I hope this this helps you out some, and please be patient, a perfect lawn wont happen overnight but it will happen.
