Recurring Fungus in St Augustine Lawn

Question
I have a St Augustine lawn near the coast in southern NC. My problem is that I am continually getting fungus (leaf spot) which I treat but it keeps coming back. I have used granular fungicides (T Storm, Eagle) which I purchase from my local John Deere Landscapes dealer. Most recently I used the liquid Spectracide from Home Depot applied with a hose. I have literally spent a few hundred dollars of fungicides this year but I can't kill it for more than a few weeks.

Any help/suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Herb

Answer
You need to identify the fungus accurately. The County Extension Agent will do this for a fee. They will recommend the chemical that will take it out. You will be responsible to ensure that it is applied properly - according to all the directions on the label.
You are dealing with a problem that is difficult to diagnose precisely and to treat effectively. You owe it to yourself to make sure that your money and time are spent wisely.
