The growth of Italian Cypress in Zone 7

Question
Hi, I live in Zone 7 in Texas and I am thinking of planting Italian Cypress trees to outline my front walkway up to the house. I would like to know how fast of growers these trees are and how much maintance that they require? I am looking for an easy maintance tree. I have Junipers in the front flower beds and they are relatively slow growers. If the Italian Cypresses grow to 60', then I need a slow grower. Thank you, Bonnie

Answer
Hi Bonnie

Cypress trees are fast growers when they actually get established. However, they can be maintained to whatever height you desire with a simple trim every March.

Cypress trees are quite low-maintenence trees that have a wonderfully simbolic spiritualism in many civilisations.
