the growth rate of trees

Question
i was wondering if you buy say 10 trees at $25 a piece and planted them and let them grow for 10 years... how much value would those grown trees add to the value of the property... do you have any examples for me? lets say silver maples or do you have any suggestions for a small to medium yard.

Answer
Silver Maples are typically considered nuisance trees because they are very susceptible to ice and wind damage. Most arborist would give them a very low value compared to other trees of similar size.
This process is very subjective and no one can give you a value without seeing the tree in person. It depends on what the trees do for the house and what condition the tree is in. For example, do they save on energy bills because they provide shade in summer? Will the tree live another 40 or 50 years or is it likely to die soon or fall on the house? Without them would the yard look terrible? Are they creating a hazard or adding to maintenance? Are they in good condition? You should speak to or hire a local arborist in your area specialized in tree valuation. Trees can be very valuable, like in the tens of thousands of dollars or they can have virtually no value. The lowest value is typically what it would cost to replace the tree with a locally available tree of standard nursery size, say 2-4" caliper.
