Dividing a sago palm

Question
My sago palm has divided (but still attached) and I have 2, each about 4' tall.  Can I divide into 2 separate palms?  If so, please tell me how.

Answer
Hey, Cheri.

Most of the time you can, but before you do, check to make sure that the new palm actually has roots. Usually they do, but sometimes they don't. If there are roots, all you should have to do is pull the two apart. You might need a trowell to help you but you should be okay since it sounds like it's still small.

Hope that helps.
