Flower bed next to a chain link fence

Question
I have a section of chain link fence about 30 feet long. I would like to put a flower bed along side the fence.  How do I keep the dirt from a flower bed from going through the fence?  Do you have any pictures that show a solution?

Answer
Victoria,

What I usually do is to drop the edges of the bed about 3 inches lower than the dirt or lawn outside the bed, then shape the bed to slope up to its normal height in the middle, and back down to a dropped edge in the back.

This contour will allow  a place for loose dirt or compost to fall without leaving the bed.  Every once in a while you have to clean out whatever dirt is filling up this V shaped space, but that's no big deal.  If your bed is significantly higher than the area at base of the fence you may have to remove some dirt.

For what it's worth,
