Chain Link Fence

Answer
All sorts of vines are available, depending on your region.  I just recently planted several Wisteria vines to do just this.... cover up something unsightly with something I'll enjoy for years to come.  Other vines are the Trumpet Vine, or Ivy.  BE careful though, as vines are a major pain to remove from a fence, once established.

It can also be an evergreen hedge, or narrow shrub.  I just planted three Thujas next to my noisy neighbors, as I had the room.  If you only have a few feet, then consider the vines...Consult a local nursery for varieties that grow in your area.  I have also used plastic slats that slide down into the fence for added privacy, but they are not the prettiest all by themselves.
