Question
We have recently landscaped our home.  But the area around the japanese maple looks quite bare.  Do you have any suggestions of flowers and/or plants that compliment the maple?  Also how close to plant them to the maple without endangering its growth?  Thank you.

Go to your local garden center and pick out some plants that you like and plant them.  Homeowners get too caught up in finding the perfect plant.  My opinion is that if you like a plant, plant it, and not worry if anyone else likes it.
