fuse blowing repetitively

Question
QUESTION: hello,
I have a Toro sprinkler system I inherited with the house we bought last year, which has been working fine until now. I noticed the right of the 2 fuses was blown, so I dropped in a new 1.5A fuse and when I power back up the breaker the fuse immediately blows again. I repeated this twice. So what's the next debugging step to figure out what's going on here?

ANSWER: Hey Jeff, let me know what model controller you have. It's either a problem with one of the solenoids, the wiring, or the transformer. E-mail me back and let me know the model name and number, thanks and have a great day.

QUESTION: Toro Vision II Series
M/N 189-96-02

Answer
Hey Jeff, the right fuse protects the controller from an excess amount of current from the power source, and is only a 3/4 amp fuse. Basically any kind of power surge or excess voltage will blow the fuse and protect the controller. I would suggest checking the transformer voltage, it should only be about 22 to 25 volts. If it is higher, you need to replace the transformer. The left fuse would blow if you have and issue with a wire going out to the valves,or a solenoid shorting out. Good luck and have a great day.
