RD600 9V Battery keeps dying

Question
Every week or so now, was a longer period but getting shorter,I notice the sprinklers not working.  I go and look at the Rain Dial unit ad the digital display where you see the time, is BLINKING.  The unit will not work and turn on when this is blinking.  I replace the 9V battery behind the control panel and it works again just fine.  Until is doesn't again.  It was happening like one a month, now it is happening more often. IS there anything I can do, or should I just get another unit?  It is was installed at this house when I bought it a year ago and the home is about 7 years old, so worse case it is that old too.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi   Sharon

Normally the battery dries up when you get an outage or several. If this is not your situation probably the controller is damaged. I had found this issue with the rain dial controllers. But make sure you have power entering to the controller.
